If your business has invested time and effort getting your website to rank well in Google search engine results, while failing to have invested in a mobile site, it’s time to give it some serious consideration, and quick.
If you follow Cyber Sushi Design on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll see we reported in early March the Google announcement that they will start to penalise businesses that fail to implement mobile sites from April 21st. A mobile site, also known as a responsive site, enhances on-the-go viewing for users across mobile devices such as phones and tablets.
In a statement from Google regarding the forthcoming algorithm to be implemented they stated:
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.”
On April 21st 2015 Google’s latest algorithm will identify and classify websites that are mobile friendly. The results will see those identified as mobile friendly ranked higher in search engine results. While Google’s announcement should come as no surprise there are many businesses that will be unprepared for the latest update, that’s even if they are aware of it in the first place, which is just one of the reasons we are trying to spread the word.
At Cyber Sushi Design, we have been inundated with requests for mobile sites from businesses keen to maintain their Google rankings. Contact us quickly if you are looking to address your lack of mobile site before April 21st. At present, we can guarantee that requests for mobile websites will be completed ahead of the April deadline.
